Idea Napkin No. 1
2/17/20
- I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing. I am involved in many things on campus including greek life. I aspire to create a single software that all social media platforms use when customers are creating accounts. In my business, I will foresee all activities and make sure that all social media platforms are implementing this tool.
- My product is a set of required information that social media platforms can ask when consumers are creating their accounts. However, the difference between my idea and what is already being used is that I will make less information required in order to prevent data privacy invasion and all platforms will be required to use the same one in order to strengthen security all around.
- I am offering this mainly to social media platforms to implement into their service. I am also appealing to people who frequently use social media because they are the ones that need their data protected.
- Social media platforms care because their users care. If customers know that their data and their privacy is safe they will continue to use these social media applications.
- All social media applications have a set of required data but nothing like this. With less information required and will all social media platforms requiring all the same information, customers will feel more safe and more eager to use these platforms.
These elements fit together because as technology advances, security needs to also advance. By implementing my idea into all platforms, customers will feel more comfortable about giving over personal information and will not fear that their privacy will be violated.
Sam,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job at explaining your product and who it will affect. I think your idea is great and the explanation you gave would be great for potential investors. I wish you had labelled each section, though, as I don't remember the full assignment and it made it slightly difficult to see what you were focusing on. Other than that, great job!
Samantha,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great idea, and I found it to be very thought provoking. I agree with your observation that security on social media websites seems to be in a set of limbo, and is in major need of an update. One way this idea could be pitched to tech companies is to highlight the cost savings from not having to do their security in house. This might also convince them to stomach the loss of revenue they get from selling people's information. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
