Opportunity: Provide more traffic lights and officers on the streets.
Story: A senior at the University of Florida was walking across the street along the crosswalk when she was struck by a car. After two days in critical condition, Denise Griffith was pronounced dead after suffering injuries to her spine and brain.
Problem: The problem is that cars are not being careful and not looking out for the students and other pedestrians that are crossing. This is a problem as many students cross the street to go to and from school and this could happen to anyone at any time.
Who has this problem: Denise unfortunately experienced this problem but so do most UF students that need to cross the street when going to class.

Samantha,
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job of pointing out opportunities/needs from the articles you found. I actually came across three of the same articles but didn't write about them because I didn't realize the problems that were present.
I especially like the problem you found from your fifth article. Most people wouldn't consider how a new attraction can affect student's grades/school work.
Great post!
Hello Samantha,
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see how many problems can be solved in everyday life. Common problems that happen everyday can always show us how we can be better as a society. For example, when the rumors began to spread about the coronavirus, UF authorities should have responded quicker regarding the misinformation. There are certainly opportunities that are presented all around us.
